Give your teen a hands-on super cooking experience!
We are offering a MORNING CLASS 10AM - 12PM + AFTERNOON CLASS 1PM-3PM each day. You can register for both and your teen can have a lunch break in between classes and relax in our cozy kitchen.

WINTER BREAK TEEN CAMPS!

Teens will love learning new skills, cooking + baking fundamentals, and being creative in the kitchen.

Perfect for ages 11 - 15.


Get into the holiday spirit in the kitchen! 

Schoolhouse Wicker Park offers hands-on cooking and baking designed just for teens! From festive cookies and creative desserts to cozy comfort foods and cooking competitions, campers will build kitchen skills while having fun with friends. Perfect for budding chefs who love to experiment, this camp is equal parts delicious and festive!


Perfect for ages 11 - 15. Each 2 hour class is $50/ person. 

There is a morning class and an afternoon class each day. If you'd like to register for both, your child may stay with our team. Please pack a lunch for them, if needed. 



Teen Winter Break Cooking Camp Menu


MONDAY, DEC 22

10AM - 12PM - HOT COCOA DONUTS + HOT COCOA

Students will learn to properly measure ingredients and mix together a batch of double chocolate donuts decorated with homemade chocolate ganache and marshmallows. We'll also learn how to make hot cocoa (from scratch!) and whipped cream. Each student makes 6 donuts. 


1PM - 3PM - CHEESY GNOCCHI + GARLIC KNOTS

Making gnocchi by hand is so fun and students will love this recipe that they can continue to perfect at home. We'll serve gnocchi with our favorite homemade tomato sauce and make yeasted garlic knots, as well! 


TUESDAY, DEC 23

10AM - 12PM - SUSHI + BOBA TEA CLASS 

Students will learn how to make several different types of sushi rolls (maki) from scratch. They prepare a variety of fillings and come up with their own combinations! We'll also make BOBA drinks to enjoy with our Maki. 


1PM - 3PM - HOLIDAY COOKIE EXTRAVAGNAZA! 

In this super fun baking class, students will make three holiday cookies to take home to share with friends and family. Chocolate Crinkle Cookies, Decorated Sugar Cookies with icing and sprinkles and Brown Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies. So much mess - so much fun!! 


FRIDAY, DEC 26 

10AM - 12PM - TAKE N BAKE CINNAMON ROLLS + HOT COCOA

Students will learn to make a delicious enriched yeasted dough for homemade cinnamon rolls with cream cheese frosting. Rolls will be ready to take home to bake or store in the freezer for a special treat. 

We'll also learn how to make hot cocoa (from scratch!) and whipped cream. Each student makes a tray of cinnamon rolls in a take home, oven ready container with baking instructions. 


1PM - 3PM - CHOPPED CHALLENGE - STIR FRY!

Young chefs will love this cooking challenge. They'll be given a "base recipe" with cooking instructions and some suggested measurements and sauce ingredients. They then get creative with their teammates to create the best STIR FRY recipe for the judges. Our encouraging chef instructors will support them every step of the way and ensure that everyone is learning and having an awesome time.

This creative and hands on class explores cake decorating and assembly as young bakers do their best to make the popular TACO CAKE! Cakes will be prebaked and ready for assembly. Students will make homemade buttercream, use fondant, piping bags, crushed cookies and sprinkles to complete their Taco Cake masterpieces.

HOW OUR WAITLIST WORKS:

If a camp reaches full capacity we cannot accommodate additional campers. However, you have the option to join our WAITLIST. (through the SAWYER registration system).


Once a spot becomes available, we will email EVERYONE on the waitlist. It doesn’t matter what position you are on the list.


As registration adjustments frequently occur before the camp commences, being on the waitlist increases your chances of securing a spot. Feel free to join the waitlist if you're interested in obtaining a spot!

NOTES ABOUT OUR CAMPS:

Accommodations: We strive to welcome everyone at the Schoolhouse and are committed to providing a safe environment for all students. If your child may need behavioral/ emotional accommodations, please let us know when you register or before camp begins so that we can be aware and do our best to be inclusive. Physically rough, destructive or disruptive behavior is not permitted as we are in a kitchen setting and you will be asked to pick-up your camper if they repeatedly engage in behavior that is unsafe or disruptive.

Cancellation Policy for Camps:
CHANGES:

We will change registration with a $25 admin fee


CANCELLATION:

  • 2+ wks notice = refund - $25 admin fee
  • Less than 2 wks notice = credit - $25 admin fee
  • Less than 1 week notice = no credit offered. You may transfer camp to another child.

What to Bring:

  • WATER BOTTLE with name clearly labeled
  • Close toed shoes are ideal and tying long hair back is helpful.
  • Some kids like to bring aprons - we provide them, as well.
  • You may bring clearly labeled “to go” containers for your child. Reduce plastic!
  • Dress for Mess!


Arrival + Dismissal:

  • Camp staff will be ready to check in campers 10 mins before camp is scheduled to begin. 
  • FIRST DAY: Please greet the staff counselor with the roster and we'll check in your camper.
