About the Schoolhouse Kitchen + Studio New Crafting Space

Whether you’re looking to try something brand new, pick up an old hobby, or simply spend quality time with friends and family, our Crafting Space is the perfect place to create. We’ve designed our classes to be fun, approachable, and welcoming for makers of all ages and skill levels, no experience needed, just a willingness to jump in and get creative.


Enjoy the freedom of our relaxed Family Open Studio, where you can explore different materials at your own pace, or dive into guided sessions like Embroidery, Intro to Knitting, and Paint & Sip, where our instructors walk you through each step. Every class is a chance to learn something new, make something beautiful, and leave with a sense of accomplishment (and maybe a little glitter on your hands)!

Family Open Studio – Retro Craft Day

Step back in time and get creative together! Our retro-themed open studio is stocked with colorful beads, polymer clay, perler beads, embroidery supplies, and more! Perfect for making friendship bracelets, keychains, wall art, and other nostalgic treasures. Work at your own pace, explore a variety of crafts, and enjoy a relaxed, come-and-go atmosphere. All ages welcome, and all supplies are included.

Please register for each person in your group. Everyone has the opportunity to create!

Adult Craft Class: Paint & Sip - WATERCOLOR FLOW

There is a flow in all creative endeavors and this process opens up space in your mind to expect beautiful surprises, make heart centered choices and build trust and confidence in your inherent creativity. 


In this hands on class Cheryl Knecht will guide through the practice of allowing for flow as you create a Mixed Media Watercolor piece. 

This class is truly for anyone! Beginners or "non artistic" people are especially welcome to explore mark making abilities, creativity and expressive energy. 

Cheryl will demonstrate how to use these flow pieces to crop to use for homemade greeting cards, mini art pieces and more! It's a super fun and relaxing process that EVERYONE is successful with. Promise. 


All painting supplies are provided; simply bring your drink of choice and an open mind. Snacks provided, too! You need snacks to properly flow. :)

Intro to Embroidery

Create Your First Sampler!
Discover the timeless craft of embroidery in this beginner-friendly class. You’ll learn the fundamentals—threading your needle, basic stitches, and how to follow a pattern—while working on a sampler design that lets you practice and showcase your new skills. Each participant will receive a hoop, needle, and thread to keep, so you can continue creating at home.

Beginning Knitting -  Make Your First Dishcloth

Learn the relaxing and rewarding art of knitting in this hands-on class designed for complete beginners. We’ll guide you through the basics—how to cast on, knit, and bind off—while you create your very first project: a simple, practical dishcloth or washcloth. All yarn, needles, and supplies are included, and you’ll take them home so you can keep practicing your new skill long after class ends.
